Audio High Definition

On his third album Audio High Definition, which is a sequel to Audio 3D, Reason celebrates his success. Audio HD is Reason saying “started from bottom now I’m here”. He has arrived – with an album that features revered names such as emcee Tumi, South African singer Thandiswa Mazwai (King Tha), Nigerian emcee M.I., South African electro/rap twins Locnville, and Southern Californian rap trio Pac Div, among others.
The music on Audio HD… well, in case you didn’t get the memo, Reason the artist is now bigger than Reason the Mass. If you are still one of those that want backpacking Reason back, sucks to be you. A majority of the beats are, just like the ones on Audio 3D radio-friendly, for the lack of a better expression. Producer PH handles most of the production but the likes of Instro and Gemini Major lend a few beats too. Light-hearted, club-ready pieces which, coupled with the emcee’s accurate flow, effortless delivery and honest lyricism and impressive penmanship, make for a solid set of songs...
...Overall, Audio High Definition is a strong effort with a few skippable songs. Reason is one of the few rappers in SA’s mainstream hip hop scene who still tell their personal story honestly in an environment that encourages party anthems and senseless tossing of punchlines. In his own words
