KAT Culture is a South African born hip hop artist; rapper, songwriter and record producer. Born in Johannesburg, June 2002 (18) he started his musical career in 2018 when he released his debut mixtape Bloodlines in November 03. The mixtape featured critically acclaimed singles such as Bonfire, Signature and Lose Myself.
He then went on to work with well proclaimed local and international artists and producers, who he explains are his mentors.
2019 saw the release of his debut joint EP 'Gwap Culture' with United States' rapper Young Gwap. Despite having two sets of musicians from two different parts of the world, the EP didn't gain much traction and quite frankly, wasn't promoted a lot by both rappers.
Later in the year in October, KAT Culture released his second solo mixtape titled 'Stripes and Checkers'. A banging project which featured guest appearances from Mash Mctylor, Sh3, D-Sin, Staxscz and Zhufu Zet and included singles such as SMP, Walk Away, Checkers and Stripes and Dues.
KAT Culture, alongside England-based producer Jay Dawson, founded his very own record label CultureFam Records in May of 2018. The label has since then gone on to build multiple partnerships in the entertainment industry. Partnerships which include the likes of Worldwide Collaboration (WWC), True Nation Entertainment and Jewel Marketing (which was founded by a member of the giant Universal Music Group). The label is home to artists like Tee Dremo, Zhufu Zet and Jr. Scenco, but none of the artists have released their debut projects under the label yet.
