The Protocol SA
A young rapper/producer from Boksburg, Johannesburg South Africa. The Protocol started rapping at the age of 16 as he was inspired by his major musical influence Tupac Shakur. It was a hobby at first but The Protocol took it a bit more serious after graduating from high school in 2014, he then took a gap year to sharpen his skills and expand his knowledge of hip hop by exploring producing. After a few years of being a part of a hip hop crew "Kontrol Unit" in which he and his close friend Jazzy Mondrey had founded, The Protocol decided to go solo to focus on his career. On the 2nd of September 2017 he released his debut project/mixtape "Welcome to Free flow" with lead singles "Racks" and "Days%drinking". Both singles have been received well and got more recognition on the music site "slikour on life". On the 23rd of June 2018 he dropped an EP titled "Her Role." Protocol is currently an independent artist. He describes his sound as "Tripwave" (a blend of intoxicated melodies and hip hop).
