His interest in music started when he was a teenager and was inspired by his uncle.

He is a systems architect with a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Pretoria. His music career began with an RnB band called Khalil.

In 2007 Bantu Soul released his self-titled album, Bantu Soul, and Soulphisticated is his second album.

He won the Metro Award for Best Male in 2008 and went on to be one of the opening acts for John Legend's Evolver Tour in 2009.

His third offering, Love Crimes, is a journey through the many phases of love. One of the main objectives of this project was to grow with the fan base his first album had given him.
